This computer courseware is an implementation of the Discover Intensive Phonics for Yourself method. There are 27 practice activities, using over 2800 words, to ensure mastery of the skills being taught. There are 4 periodic tests to check for understanding of the skills being taught. Previous lessons can be reviewed based on test performance. Performance scores are available to read and print. Teacher's Manual (two volumes).
The Teacher's Manual contains the material to teach the entire Discover Intensive Phonics for Yourself program. The manual is divided into two volumes. Color- coded units and section are scripted for easy use. Section prefaces provide general guidelines for teacher preparation. Enrichment sections following each lesson outline the use of course materials, reading and writing activities, games and other suggestions for extra student involvement. An Enrichment CD-ROM, answer key, and black- line masters are provided with each manual. Finally, effective, easy to use instruction materials for older students!

The name "Reverse Listening Cards" indicates a reversal from dictation to reading. These cards provide a test of a student's ability to read and decode at incremental levels. The cards also provide guided reading and writing activities, help develop independent work and provide word banks for dictation.
